    a: The cost per one hour lesson is R280. We have cost effective packages available too.

  • q:Do you offer truck licenses?

    a: Currently we do not offer truck licenses, however we do intend to offer in the near future.

  • q:Do you offer learners' licenses classes?

    a: We don't offer classes because we believe it's easy enough to self-study. However, we can provide you with the relevant study materials at no charge. Download the free K53 book from our website.

  • q:Do you offer Manual and Automatic driving lessons?

    a: Yes, we have a fleet of new manual and automatic vehicles.

  • q:Do you offer automatic drivers lessons?

    a: Absolutely, we offer both automatic and manual drivers licenses.

  • q:Which is the best vehicle to learn with, manual or automatic?

    a: It is easier to learn how to drive with an automatic vehicle, but if you have an automatic license, you are legally not allowed to drive a manual vehicle. You may drive both manual and automatic vehicles with a manual license.

  • q:Can I do my drivers test with an automatic vehicle in South Africa?

    a: Yes, you may use an automatic or manual vehicle for your drivers test.

  • q:Do you offer driving lessons over weekends?

    a: Yes, for your convenience we do offer lessons over weekends and after hours.

  • q:Do you offer pick up and drop off before and after driving lessons?

    a: Absolutely! This service is included in your lesson cost when you book with iDriving school.

  • q:Are there any hidden or additional charges at iDriving School?

    a: No, there are no additional costs or charges, what you see is what you pay.

  • q:Is iDriving School open on public holidays?

    a: Yes, we are open on public holidays, weekends and after hours.

  • q:How many driving lessons do I need?

    a: Each student is unique, making it difficult to determine the exact number of lessons needed. However, our certified instructors will provide you with the best possible training to obtain your license quickly.

  • q:Can I have driving lessons without a learner’s license?

    a: No, as per government regulations no person may learn to drive without a valid learner’s license.

  • q:What do I need when applying for my learners license?

    a: To book your learner's license test, visit a traffic department with the following items: 1) R100 booking fee, 2) Two identical black-and-white photos, 3) Proof of address, 4) ID card/document.

  • q:Can I do a code 8 driving test with my code 10 learners?

    a: Yes, you may do your code 8 drivers license with a code 10 learners license.

  • q:Do you teach the K53, checks and parking’s that I need to pass?

    a: Yes, we will teach you everything you need to know to pass your Driver’s test and we ensure that you become a competent safe driver.

  • q:Will the instructor tell me how many driving lessons I still need?

    a: Yes, all our instructors are certified and have years of experience to help guide and advise you on how many lessons they believe you would need to pass your driver’s test the first time.

  • q:How long does it take to get a drivers license?

    a: It differs from student to student, we have students that start with us as an example on a Monday and by the end of the week they have their driver’s license. We will endeavor to get you through your lessons and be ready for your driver’s test as soon as possible, however the availability at the government’s testing stations is out of our control.

  • q:How much is a learners license in Cape Town?

    a: There is a R100 booking fee payable to the traffic department.

  • q:Where are you located/your offices?

    a: Marisa and the office team are based in Yzerfontein (please note we do not have a walk-in office anymore, our instructors are based in several areas in and around Cape Town, including Southern suburbs, Northern suburbs, West coast, Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Durbanville, Blouberg, Parklands, Belville and many more areas.

  • q:What areas do you serve?

    a: We serve almost all areas in the Western Cape, however the majority of our vehicles are based in and around Cape Town, including Southern suburbs, Northern suburbs, Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Durbanville, Blouberg, Parklands, Belville and many more areas.

  • q:Can I use my car for my drivers test?

    a: Yes, we offer you the flexibility to use our car which is included in some of our packages, however you are also more than welcome to use your own vehicle.

  • q:What is the difference between lessons only and lessons + car hire?

    a: If you intend to do only your lessons and have not decided to go for your driver’s license test yet or decide to use your own vehicle for your drivers license test, then we recommend you take the lessons only. However, if you are sure that you want to do your lessons and do your driver’s licenses test in the shortest possible time, then we recommend you add the car option so that we can ensure car availability for your test.

  • q:Do you offer consecutive lessons?

    a: Yes, consecutive lessons are much more effective to ensure that our students get quality time with their instructors, studies conducted in the US have corroborated this practice as most efficient. However Student and Instructor availability will dictate the duration of the lessons which varies from 1 hour to 2 hours per day.

  • q:Must I take a package or can I do individual driving lessons?

    a: You are more than welcome to do individual lessons, iDriving School is renowned for our integrity and ability to give quality lessons regardless of the amount of lessons or package you choose. Packages have been designed to give our cherished students the opportunity to save cost.

  • q:How long is a driving lesson?

    a: The duration of one lesson is one hour.

  • q:Is manual and automatic the same price for driving lessons?

    a: Yes, for the time being our manual and automatic lessons are the same price. What you see is what you pay, there is no hidden cost.

  • q:Driving lessons for people with driver's licenses?

    a: Yes, we do offer refresher courses for drivers with drivers licenses.
